Skills
At LG Legacy Group, LLC, you will be exposed to tax procedures, consulting and tax return
review which will involve independent tax research, tax planning, and the preparation/review of
supporting work papers on various high net worth, gift, estate and trust tax returns and
projects. You will have an opportunity to work alongside Partners, Managers, and peers as a
member of the engagement team. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to learn new skill
sets, be involved in office community activities, and build lasting relationships with members of
the LG Legacy team. This is a position with upward mobility opportunities to include a Director
and/or Partner level promotions.
Your experience will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Managing and overseeing a variety of high net worth, gift, trust or estate engagements ranging in
difficulty from relatively easy to very complex. - Networking with your peers
- Giving back to the community through outreach activities
Sharpening your leadership skills
Additional Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the preparation of and detail review of tax returns for high net worth individuals,
gift, trusts, and estate tax returns. - Preparation and review of fiduciary accounting for estates and trusts.
- Research and consult on various estate, gift, and trust related issues, such as generation
skipping tax, Crummey obligations, trustee and beneficiary issues etc. - Identifying and resolving technical individual, gift, trust and estate centric tax issues.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and
presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management. - Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
- Train staff and review, evaluate, and provide feedback on their work.
- Collaboratively working with client team members.
- Willingness to participate in firm networking and recruiting events.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets and workflows.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license, JD or a Masters of Science in Taxation
- CPA required.
- 8+ years recent experience in public accounting.
Skill Requirements
- Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and skill set.
- A willingness to learn and succeed in a dynamic environment.
- The willingness and ability to work additional hours during peak seasons, as needed.
- Must be client-service focused and career oriented.
- Excel, Word, CCH, BNA, and CCH Prosystem tax software are a plus.
